Sydney

We took a bus to Manly where we caught a ferry into Sydney. As we were coming round the headland we got our first glimpse of Sydney. We saw the Sydney Opera House then the Harbour bridge. We docked then went to explore Sydney . We walked up and aroun d the Opera House. I learnt that the Opera house 10 sails and has 1056006 tiles on it.
There was an American war ship docked in the harbour so we went around to look at it. The ship was an Amphibious assault ship and marine transporter. They were doing toured guides of the ship so we went and had a tour. On the bottom deck there were army trucks and jeeps. At the back of the ship there were hover crafts with army tanks, trucks and jeeps. In the hangar there were vertical take off Harriers and on the top deck there were assault helicopters, Harriers and Ospreys. The ship was amazing.
The last thing we did was we walked across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The views were spectacular. I really enjoyed Sydney and will have some great memories to share.

Canberra

Yesterday we went to Canberra for two days. We took a guided tour through Parliament house and saw every room including The Great Hall, the House Of Representatives and the Senate. We went to the Australian Institute of Sport and saw the rooms where the athletes train and play their sport. We also went to a place called Questacon which is all to do with science and it is huge! There were lots of interesting information and brain teasing tasks to do. I learnt lots of different things. The last thing that we went to was the War Memorial. It is an amazing place but very sad as well. There was an exibit on and it showed all the weapons and machinery that the men in the Second World War used. We have been staying in a place called Dalmeny which is in New South Wales. We have had some great surf and an amazing view over the ocean where our caravan is.

South Australia

Over the last month we have been in Cactus but we have had no reception so it has been really hard to post things. In Cactus it was great, we were in really remote places and we got some really great surf. There wasn’t very many other things that we could do. There was some great sunsets and sunrises. We went exploring up and down the coast.

Our stop after Cactus was Streaky Bay. It was a small town with some good waves and not crowded. We saw some amazing sights of the cliffs which were huge and a vertical drop to the ocean. We had to climb down some of these cliffs to get to some of the surf breaks which was really scary! The caravan park we stayed in was right on the water with pelicans and it was really protected. We went exploring down the coast and found some great remote waves.

Elliston was the next stop we stayed there for a week and then took a car ferry across the Spencer Gulf to reach the Yorke Penninsula. We stayed at a bush camp for a week which was really isolated and we had some great surf and also looked at some old settlements which were interesting. This coastline had many shipwrecks and there are lots of information signs which tell us about the Investigator Strait Shipwreck Trail. We are now moving into Adelaide and finally getting into civilisation.

hope everyone is doing well!!!!!! I have been using the phone when we get range to look at the blog and its great to see how everyone is going. from Ben

We are in Esperance

Yesturday we went to Cape Le Grand national park and explored the white pristene beaches. We explored four different bays, they were amazing. We then climped the huge rock called French Mans Peak. It was a three kilometre walk to the top and back, at the top there was a huge cave that had great views.
